Appears that winter has just disappeared and Spring is here.
But it is cold, really cold. Sometimes I feel like it is colder than winter. Maybe because the sun is shining bright and there is a perception that it is warm outside and that is the way we dress.
A few weeks ago I was doing some purging, as my life now, is so different than my life back in California. Nine months ago, I owned a very rarely pair of Uggs, two sweatshirts, two beanies and a ski jacket that really did not fit. My closet now consist of four winter jackets, ten beanies (probably more actually), a pair of rain boots, Uggs and Sorels. Along with gloves and scarves. And we cannot forget the puffy vest that I have always wanted, but had no need for. And cabin socks....the most amazing cozy socks you will ever wear.
Skylar finished ski team and has started softball full force. Aidan baseball. I look at my empty calendar from months past and long for those days. Every day we seem to have some sort of activity. If I ever regretted moving here, it is gone when Aidan takes off on his bike, heading to practice. Or I leave 5 minutes before he is done to grab him. Small town living at its finest.
We had a birthday and an anniversary, a night at Monster Trucks, a few books read and our first big accomplishment towards being debt free.
Summer is just around the corner. The nights are getting warmer, the fire pit has been on once, we are working on our back yard and looking forward to my parents arrival in two weeks, followed by my best friend. We actually made it out for a very chilly bike ride, that was so invigorating, I am just waiting to get back on.
The snow is off the trails and I have been able to get two amazing hikes in this month, with many more on the books. I have started rock climbing at the local gym and am going to work that and yoga back into my schedule. Pushing outside my limits and seeing what my body is capable of.
I am excited for being outside more, really exploring our state and camping. This summer I plan on doing an overnight hiking trip with a few woman I have met and really would like to do a solo trip as well.
